This course introduces Alison students to the basic concepts surrounding data governance, a discipline that a successful organization cannot avoid. By enrolling in this course, students will learn how a data governance framework is built, the roles assigned, and what sustains it. Moreover, they will also learn about various challenges faced by organizations in establishing this framework and the ways to overcome them.

It would not be wrong to say that data is one of the most valuable assets for any organization that seeks to succeed. Whether it is the timesheet for employees’ attendance or the details of a business deal, organizations cannot deny the significance of data stored in their physical and digital vaults. However, not all of this data remains consistently useful, and it becomes essential to eliminate it. Moreover, as new information is stored in organizational repositories, managing old data can become time-consuming and exhausting.However, by teaching organizations how to manage their existing and new data, an environment can be created to preserve the integrity and security of the data.
